How far would you go for justice?

Daddy, Tell Me a Story is a book about purpose, legacy, leadership and community. In it I share some of the pivotal moments of my father's life and career while sharing insightful life lessons.  After publishing costs, the proceeds from this campaign will be used to support the educational pursuits of students attending Savannah State University (SSU) and Southern University Law Center (SULC) through our family's foundation, JMN C.A.R.E.S.

ABOUT THE BOOK

ABOUT THE BOOK

Hi! I am Attorney Nefertara Clark, the author of Daddy, Tell Me a Story.  I am an alumnae of Savannah State University and Southern University Law Center, and so is my father. Fun fact, my mother also attended SSU. That's where she met my father. But, more about that in the book. :-) That's how we arrived at supporting scholars of these illustrious institutions. I wrote this book as a means to share my father's life and legacy while also continuing my parents' legacy of supporting scholars.

The journey of writing the first draft of my manuscript was much more daunting than I expected. You see, I write 40,000 word appellate briefs for clients I've only known for a few months. So, I figured it would be extremely easy to write a 40,000 word book about a man I've known and adored my entire life. That wasn't the case. But, by the grace of God, I have completed my manuscript.

You will laugh, cry and think deeply about the stories you’ll read. You will love this book if you like an interesting story about those who have had unique life experiences. In this book, you should expect to read stories about:

  • My father's decision to stop consuming alcohol,

  • The threat on his life as a result of courtroom victories for people of color seeking elected office and city jobs, and

  • His lifelong belief in God and his ability to see the bigger picture.

  •

I  believe in God, purpose, community and legacy. In reading this book, it is my prayer that this book will encourage and edify others as they intentionally pursue their purpose.
